This medication is a dyslipidaemic agent, prescribed for hypercholesterolaemias and hyperlipoproteinaemia. It is a powerful antioxidant which inhibits the oxidation of cholesterol in LDLs.
Adult: PO- The recommended dose is 500 mg twice daily.
It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with food.
• Caution should be exercised in patients with history of prolonged QT interval, heart diseases, decrease in potassium level, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
• Gastrointestinal: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, gas, indigestion, excessive or foul-smelling sweat.
Avoid excess dosage.
Store it at room temperature and away from moisture.
