Why it is prescribed (Indications) : 
This medication is an antibiotic, prescribed for eye infections.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications): 


Hypersensitivity.

Category C : Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.


When it is to be taken : 
Topical- Apply the ointment every 3 or 4 hours for 7 to 10 days, depending on the severity of the infection.
How it should be taken : 
It comes as eye drops to instill into the affected eyes as directed by your physician.
Special Instruction : 
* Caution should be exercised in patients with history of hearing problems or kidney disease, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Side Effects : 
Burning, itching, swelling and redness.
Other Precautions : 
* Avoid excess dosage.
Storage Conditions : 
Store it at room temperature (15° to 25°C).
