International- Podofilox. This medication is an antimitotic, prescribed for external genital warts. When it is not to be taken (Contraindications):
When it is to be taken : Topical- Apply twice-daily morning and evening (every 12 hours), for 3 consecutive days, then withhold use for 4 consecutive days. How it should be taken : It comes as a solution for topical application. Special Instruction : * Caution should be exercised in patients with history of any allergy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. * It may cause dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication. * It is flammable, avoid storing or use near an open flame or while smoking. Side Effects : Most Common - Burning, pain, inflammation, erosion, itching. Miscellaneous - Pain during intercourse, sleeplessness, tingling, bleeding, tenderness, chafing, malodor, dizziness, scarring, vesicle formation, crusting edema, dryness/peeling, foreskin irretraction, blood in urine, vomiting and ulceration. * Avoid excess dosage. Storage Conditions : Store at controlled room temperature between 15° and 30°C. |
