Why it is prescribed (Indications) : 
This medication is a statin, used to treat obesity, blockages in blood vessels by reducing the cholesterol level and triglyceride level in blood.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications): 


Contraindicated in patients with liver disease, during pregnancy and breast feeding; hypersensitivity.

Category X : Studies in animals or humans have demonstrated fetal abnormalities and/or there is positive evidence of human fetal risk based on adverse reaction data from investigational or marketing experience, and the risks involved in use of the drug in pregnant women clearly outweigh potential benefits.


When it is to be taken : 
Adults: At first, 2 milligrams (mg) once a day. Your doctor may adjust your dose as needed. However, the dose is usually not more than 4 mg a day.
Children—Use and dose must be determined by your doctor.
How it should be taken : 
It comes as a tablet to take by mouth with or without food.
Special Instruction : 
*Harmful to unborn baby, use effective form birth control with doctor’s guidance.
*Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication.
*Check your progress in regular intervals.
Side Effects : 
Miscellaneous- Headaches, stomach upset, abnormal liver function and muscle cramps.
Other Precautions : 
*Monitor lipid level after 4weeks therapy.
Storage Conditions : 
Store it at 25°C. Store it in an airtight container and keep away from children.
