This medication is a cholinergic agonist, prescribed for glaucoma. It reduces the amount of fluid in the eye, which decreases pressure inside the eye.
Contraindicated in patients with angle-closure glaucoma and hypersensitivity.
Ophthalmic: As 0.5-4% solution – Instill 1 or 2 drops 4 times/day.
It comes as eye drops to instill into the affected eyes.
• Caution should be exercised in patients with history of asthma, intestinal disease, ulcers, high blood pressure, heart disease, overactive thyroid gland, seizures, Parkinson's disease, urinary obstruction, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
• It may cause blurred vision, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
Blurred vision, stinging, burning, redness, itching, watering or swelling of the eye, redness of the eyelids and headache.
Avoid excess dosage.
Store it at room temperature.
