Why it is prescribed (Indications) : 
This medication is an estrogen/progestin combination, prescribed for contraception.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications): 


Contraindicated in patients with breast cancer, cancer of the uterus, cervix, or vagina, unusual vaginal bleeding, liver cancer, severe high blood pressure, blood disease porphyria, headache, recent heart attack, stroke, blood clot disorder, and hypersensitivity.


When it is to be taken : 
6mg norelgestromin (NGMN) and 0.75 mg ethinyl estradiol (EE).
This system uses a 28-day (four-week) cycle. A new patch is applied each week for three weeks (21 total days). Week Four is patch-free.
How it should be taken : 
It comes as a patch, to apply as directed by your physician.
Special Instruction : 
* Caution should be exercised in patients with history of liver or kidney impairment, heart disease, diabetes, migraine headaches, epilepsy, mental depression, obesity, smoking, miscarriage or abortion, uterine fibroids, or irregular or scanty menstrual periods, high cholesterol, who are taking other medications, any allergy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
* It may cause dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
* Avoid alcohol consumption.
* Avoid exposure to sunlight.
* Smoking habit may increase the risk of stroke, heart attack, blood clots, and high blood pressure; avoid smoking.
* It does not stop the spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs); do not share needles, injection supplies, or items like toothbrushes or razors.
* It should not be used in children who have not attained puberty.
Side Effects : 
Genitourinary - Breast tenderness, vaginal yeast infection, painful menstrual period, vaginal bleeding and menstrual disorders.
Gastrointestinal - Nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea.
Central Nervous system - Headache, dizziness, migraine, and anxiety disorders.
General - Application site disorder, fatigue and psychiatric disorders.
Skin - Pimples, itching.
Metabolic - Increased weight.
Other Precautions : 
* Avoid excess dosage.
Storage Conditions : 
Store at 25°C.
