Why is Mepacrine Prescribed? (Indications)

This medication is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), prescribed for giardiasis and lupus erythematosus.

When should Mepacrine not be taken? (Contraindications)

Hypersensitivity and psoriasis.

What is the dosage of Mepacrine?

Adult: PO- The recommended dose is 100 mg 3 times/day for 5-7 days.

How should Mepacrine be taken?

It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with food.

• Caution should be exercised in patients with history of psychosis, liver disease, blood disorder, elderly, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
