Why it is prescribed (Indications) : This medication is a mast cell stabilizer, prescribed for the treatment of redness, burning, itching, and swelling of the eyes.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications): 

Hypersensitivity.

Category B : Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women OR Animal studies have shown an adverse effect, but adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in any trimester.


When it is to be taken : Ophthalmic- Instill one to two drops in each affected eye (s) four times daily for up to 3 months.
How it should be taken : It comes as eye drops to instill into the affected eyes as directed by your physician.
Special Instruction : 
* Caution should be exercised in patients with history of any allergy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
* It may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
* Remove your contact lenses before using this medication.
Side Effects : 
Eye - Itching, blurred vision, dry eye and discharge from eyes.
Miscellaneous - Dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, stomach discomfort, sneezing, dry nose and rash.
Other Precautions : 
* Avoid excess dosage.
Storage Conditions : 
Store it at room temperature (15 - 27°C).
