This medication is a folic acid derivative, used as an adjuvant in chemotherapy for treating patients with osteosarcoma and colorectal cancer. It helps to reduce the action and toxic effects of methotrexate.

When should Levoleucovorin not be taken? (Contraindications)

Hypersensitivity.

What is the dosage of Levoleucovorin?

High-Dose Methotrexate in Osteosarcoma- 10 mg/sq.meter IV q6hr starting 24 hr after methotrexate
Coadministration with Trimetrexate- 20 mg/sq.meter IV/PO q6hr (for PO, round dose up to next 25 mg increment)
Colorectal CA- Recommended 20 mg/sq.meter IV followed by 425 mg/sq.meter fluorouracil.
