International- Fulvicin-U/F, Grifulvin V, Gris-PEG. This medication is an antifungal agent, prescribed for fungal infections of the skin, hair, fingernails and toenails. When it is not to be taken (Contraindications):
When it is to be taken : Adult: PO- 0.5-1 g/day. Hair and skin infections: 2-8 week. Fingernail infections: 6 months. Toenail infections: 12 months or more. How it should be taken : It comes as a tablet, capsule and oral liquid to take by mouth, with food. Special Instruction : * Caution should be exercised in patients with history of liver disease, porphyria, lupus, or history of alcohol abuse, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. * Avoid exposure to sunlight. Side Effects : Gastrointestinal - Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, mouth soreness and increased thirst. Central Nervous System - Headache, depression, sleeplessness and fatigue. Allergic Reactions - Rash, shortness of breath, itching and hives. * This medication may reduce the effect of oral contraceptives; take other contraceptive measures to prevent pregnancy. Storage Conditions : Store it at room temperature. Do not allow the liquid to freeze. |
