Why it is prescribed (Indications) : This medication is an fluoroquinolones antibiotic, prescribed for certain types of infection such as chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, gonorrhea, urethritis and cervicitis and other infections. When it is not to be taken (Contraindications):
When it is to be taken : PO- The recommended dose range is 400 to 600mg/day, for 1 to 10days. How it should be taken : It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with or without food. Special Instruction : * Caution should be exercised in patients with history of liver disease, heart disease, any allergy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. * Drink plenty of fluid while taking this medication. * Avoid exposure to sunlight. * It may cause dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication. Side Effects : Gastrointestinal - Nausea, taste perversion, diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, indigestion, constipation, loss of appetite. Central Nervous System - Headache, dizziness, weakness, sleeplessness, drowsiness, nervousness, dry mouth. Genitourinary - Vaginal inflammation, white discharge, vaginal itching. Skin - Infection, rash, sensitivity to light. Body as a Whole - Back pain, body odor, chest pain, chills, facial swelling, fever, uneasiness, neck rigidity, pelvic pain. * Avoid excess dosage. Storage Conditions : Store it at controlled room temperature (25°C). |
