Why it is prescribed (Indications) : 
This medication is a paramagnetic contrast agent, used with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to diagnose certain liver diseases.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications): 


None.

Category C : Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.


When it is to be taken : 
IV- The recommended dose is 0.1 mL/kg body weight (0.025 mmol/kg body weight).
How it should be taken : 
It comes as a solution for injection to be administered by a healthcare provider into the vein.
Special Instruction : 
* Caution should be exercised in patients with history of diabetes, high blood pressure, liver disease, asthma, any allergy, had an injury, surgery, elderly, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Side Effects : 
Serious Effects- Decreased urination, drowsiness, confusion, mood changes, increased thirst, loss of appetite, swelling, weight gain, feeling short of breath, irritation.
Most Common - Headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, flushing, cold feeling, burning sensation in injection site.
Other Precautions : 
* Avoid excess dosage.
Storage Conditions : 
Store it at room temperature (20-25°C).
