International- Raptiva. This medication is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, prescribed for chronic, moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. When it is not to be taken (Contraindications):
When it is to be taken : SC- The recommended dose is 0.7 mg/kg as a single dose followed by weekly doses of 1 mg/kg. Maximum: 200mg. How it should be taken : It comes as a solution for injection to be administered by a healthcare provider under the skin. Special Instruction : * Caution should be exercised in patients with history of cancer, at risk of developing cancer, arthritis, anemia, nerve problems, poor immunity, psoriasis, infections, herpes, syphilis, tuberculosis (TB), any allergy, who are taking other medications, elderly, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. * It may reduce platelet counts; avoid injury or bruising. * It should not be used in children. * Avoid live vaccination during the treatment period. Side Effects : Most Common - Headache, chills, fever, nausea, infections, and muscle pain. Hypersensitivity - Difficulty in breathing, asthma, hives, life-threatening allergic reactions with or without shock and rash. * Avoid excess dosage. Storage Conditions : Store it in refrigerator (2-8°C). Do not freeze it. |
