Why it is prescribed (Indications) : 
This medication is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor, prescribed for an enlarged prostate treatment. It blocks the production of a natural substance that enlarges the prostate and reduces the need for surgery. 
When it is not to be taken (Contraindications): 
Contraindicated in patients with severe liver impairment; pregnant women, children, adolescent.

Category X : Studies in animals or humans have demonstrated fetal abnormalities and/or there is positive evidence of human fetal risk based on adverse reaction data from investigational or marketing experience, and the risks involved in use of the drug in pregnant women clearly outweigh potential benefits.

Dosage & When it is to be taken : 
Adult: PO- 500 mcg daily (treatment for 6 month may be required before benefit is obtained).
How it should be taken : 
It comes as a capsule to take by mouth, with or without food.
Warnings and Precautions : 
* Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had liver disease or prostate cancer.
* This drug only for men.
*Touching the contents of the capsules by pregnant female may harm to the fetus. Avoid touching the medication directly, if it does so wash properly.
Side Effects : 
Genitourinary- Impotence, decreased libido, ejaculation disorders, breast tenderness, and enlargement.
Heart-Heart Failure.
Other Precautions : 
*Monitor patients with large residual urine volume.
Storage Conditions : 
Oral: Store at 25°C.Store it in airtight container.

Dear Sir,

whether this drug-dutasteride-0.5mg, has any adverse effect on Vision on prolonged usage along with siodosin-8mg capsule/day.
I am a NA Glaucoma patient having no eye drops for controlling IOP after laser/cataracts' surgery.
Please indicate as no information is available.
I do take Amlodipine-2.5mg & Atenolol 25mg,each in the morning for BP control
