International- Adacel. This medication is a vaccine, prescribed for tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis infections. When it is not to be taken (Contraindications):
When it is to be taken : IM- The recommended dose is 0.5ml as a single dose. How it should be taken : It comes as a solution for injection, to be administered by a healthcare provider into the large muscle. Special Instruction : * Caution should be exercised in patients with history of Guillain-Barre syndrome, brain disorder, stroke, infection, cancer, weakened immune system, undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy, seizures, high fever, who are taking other medications, any allergy, elderly, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. * It should not be used in children less than 11 years. Side Effects : Most Common - Headache. Central Nervous system - Tingling, sensory loss, Guillain-Barré syndrome, facial palsy, convulsion, fainting, inflammation of spinal cord. Immune system disorders - Anaphylactic reaction, hypersensitivity reaction. Skin - Itching and hives. Musculoskeletal - Inflammation of skeletal muscles, muscle spasm. Heart - Inflammation of heart muscle. * Avoid excess dosage. Storage Conditions : Store it in refrigerator (2° to 8°C). Do not freeze it. |
