This medication is an ophthalmic corticosteroid, prescribed for swelling, itching, redness and irritation of the eyes. When it is not to be taken (Contraindications):
When it is to be taken : Ophthalmic- As 0.1% solution: Instill 1-2 drops 4-6 times/day. As 0.05% ointment: Apply 0.5-1mg 4 times/day. How it should be taken : It comes as eye drops and eye ointment to apply into the affected eyes. Special Instruction : * Caution should be exercised in patients with history of sugar, increased eye pressure, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. * Remove contact lenses before using this medication. Side Effects : Drooping of eyelid, increased eye pressure and vision changes. * Avoid excess dosage. Storage Conditions : Store it at controlled room temperature (20 to 25°C). Keep away from children. |
