International- Desowen, Tridesilon. This medication is a topical corticosteroid, prescribed for atopic dermatitis (eczema), seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis and contact dermatitis in both adults and children. When it is not to be taken (Contraindications):
When it is to be taken : It should be applied on the affected areas as a thin layer two or three times daily depending on the severity of the condition. How it should be taken : It comes as a lotion, gel, cream and ointment to apply topically. Special Instruction : * Caution should be exercised in patients with history of skin infections, cuts, scrapes, measles, tuberculosis, shingles, any allergy, who are taking other medications, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. * For external use only; avoid contact with eyes, nose and mouth. * Avoid excess dosage. Side Effects : Local- Stinging, burning, irritation, skin inflammation, redness of the skin, condition worsened, peeling of skin, itching and dryness/scaliness. * Serious side effects may occur if too much cream is absorbed through the skin. Storage Conditions : Store between 15° and 30° C. |
