Why it is prescribed (Indications) : 
This medication is a general anesthetic, prescribed for induction of anesthesia during surgery.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications): 


Contraindicated in patients with high fever and hypersensitivity.

Category B : Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women OR Animal studies have shown an adverse effect, but adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in any trimester.


When it is to be taken : 
Dose is based on patient’s condition, age and response to the medication.
How it should be taken : 
It is administered by inhalation.
Special Instruction : 
* Caution should be exercised in case of allergies, during pregnancy, elderly and in children
* It may cause tiredness, weakness or drowsiness, do not drive a car or operate machinery for 24hours after receiving this medication.
* Avoid alcohol consumption.
Side Effects : 
Heart - Fast and slow heart rate and high blood pressure.
Gastrointestinal- Nausea and vomiting.
Central Nervous System- Dizziness, weakness, headache, nervousness and increased salivation.
Respiratory - Cough and difficulty in breathing.
Eye- Eye inflammation.
Other Precautions : 
*Avoid excess dosage.
Storage Conditions : 
Store it at room temperature (15°-30°C), and in an airtight container.
