Trade Name(s): India- Cyclasyn Tab, Cyclospasmol Cap, Martispasmol Tab. International- Cyclospasmol. Overview : Note: It is not commercially available in the United States. Why it is prescribed (Indications) : This medication is a vasodilator, prescribed for Raynaud’s disease and leg cramps. It dilates blood vessels and allows blood to pass through the vessels more easily. When it is not to be taken (Contraindications): Acute phase of stroke.
Dosage & When it is to be taken : Adult: PO- Initial: Up to 2 g/day. Maintenance: 800-1,200 mg/day. How it should be taken : It comes as a tablet and capsule to take by mouth. Warnings and Precautions : *It may cause decrease in blood supply to the heart; brain death. Side Effects : Central Nervous System- Dizziness, headache, drowsiness, tiredness, weakness. Gastrointestinal- Nausea, vomiting, bloody diarrhea, heart burn. Miscellaneous- Flushes, fever, joint or muscle pain, fast heart rate, sweating. *Avoid taking excess dose. Storage Conditions : Store it at room temperature; keep away from light and moisture. |
