Why is Crotamiton Prescribed? (Indications)

This medication is a scabicidal antipruritic, prescribed for scabies and itching.

When should Crotamiton not be taken? (Contraindications)

Hypersensitivity.

What is the dosage of Crotamiton?

Topical Scabies- As 10% cream/lotion: Apply to the whole body from below the chin. 2nd application is applied 24 hours later. May need to use once daily for up to 5 days.
Pruritus- As 10% cream/lotion: Apply 2-3 times/day.
