International- Azo-Cranberry, Cranberry. Note: This medication has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Why it is prescribed (Indications) : This medication is a herbal product, prescribed for urinary tract infection. This medication can aid in the prevention of cancer and heart diseases. When it is not to be taken (Contraindications):
When it is to be taken : Adult doses is ranged from 120 to 4,000 mL/day. Children- 5 mL/kg (up to 300 mL) daily in divided doses. How it should be taken : It comes as a juice or capsule to take by mouth, as directed by your physician. Special Instruction : * Caution should be exercised in patients with history of diabetes, kidney stones, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breast-feeding. * Sugar patients should consume the juice without sugar. Side Effects : Genitourinary- Pain or burning sensation in urethra, blood in urine and decreased urine output. Gastrointestinal- Severe stomach pain. Severe allergic reactions- Rash, hives, itching, difficulty in breathing, tightness in the chest and swelling of the mouth, face, lips or tongue. *Avoid excess dosage. Storage Conditions : Store it in an airtight container, away from moisture, heat and light. |
