Generic Name : Cobicistat-Elvitegravir-Emtricitabine-Tenofovir
Trade Name(s): International- Stribild. Why it is prescribed (Indications) : This combination medication contains integrase strand transfer inhibitor, pharmacokinetic enhancer and nucleos(t)ide analog HIV-1 reverse transcriptase inhibitors, prescribed for HIV-1 infection. When it is not to be taken (Contraindications): It should not be co-administered with highly CYP3A dependents.
Dosage & When it is to be taken : PO- The recommended dose is one tablet once daily. How it should be taken : It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with food. Warnings and Precautions : * Monitor bone mineral density (BMD), creatinine clearance (CrCl), urine glucose, and urine protein regularly while taking this medication. * Redistribution or accumulation of body fat may occur; if it is so consult with your doctor Side Effects : Most Common - Nausea and diarrhea. Eye - Ocular icterus. Gastrointestinal - Diarrhea, flatulence, nausea., Central Nervous System - Fatigue, drowsiness, headache, dizziness, sleeplessness, abnormal dreams. * Avoid excess dosage.
