Why it is prescribed (Indications) : This medication is a cephalosporin antibiotic, prescribed for certain types of bacterial infections. The medication fights against the bacteria present in the body.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications): 

Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity.

Category B : Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women OR Animal studies have shown an adverse effect, but adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in any trimester.


When it is to be taken : Adult: Oral: The recommended dose is 400mg once daily.
How it should be taken : It comes as a capsule and suspension to take by mouth, with or without food.
Special Instruction : 
* Caution should be exercised in patients with history of kidney, stomach diseases, allergy, elderly, during pregnancy and lactation.
* Avoid long-term use; otherwise it will cause secondary infection.
Side Effects : 
Most Common- Diarrhea, headache, indigestion, loose/watery stools, nausea and vomiting.
Central nervous system - Dizziness and sleep disorder.
Hypersensitivity- Rash.
Other Precautions : 
* Monitor sugar level for diabetes patients while taking this medication.
Storage Conditions : 
Store the capsules between 2° and 25°C, away from light and moisture.
