Why it is prescribed (Indications) : 
This medication is an antibiotic, prescribed for eye infections caused by bacteria. It stops or prevents bacterial infections of the eyeball by killing susceptible bacteria.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications): 


Hypersensitivity.

Category C : Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.


When it is to be taken : 
Topical- Apply a small amount on the affected eyes as directed by your physician.
Special Instruction : 
*Caution should be exercised in patients with other eye problems, allergies (especially allergies to antibiotics or sulfites), during pregnancy and lactation.
*Do not wear contact lenses, while having eye infection.
Side Effects : 
Eye- Stinging, burning of eyes and blurred vision.
Allergic reactions- Skin rash, itching/burning/redness/pain/swelling in or around the eyes.
Other Precautions : 
*Wash your hands after using this medication.
Storage Conditions : 
Ophthalmic: Store at 2-25°C. Do not freeze it.
