Why it is prescribed (Indications) : 
This medication is an atypical antipsychotic and antidepressant, prescribed for schizophrenia and depression. It regulates abnormal conditions like disturbed or unusual thinking, loss of interest in life, and strong or inappropriate emotions in adults and children greater than 13 years.  
When it is not to be taken (Contraindications): 
Hypersensitivity, pregnancy and lactation, children less than 18 years.

Category C : Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.

Dosage & When it is to be taken : 
Adult: Initial dose: 10 to 15 mg once daily. Usual maintenance dose: 15 mg once daily. Adjust dose at intervals of at least 2 week. Max dose: 30 mg once daily, by mouth.
How it should be taken : 
This medication available in the form of tablet and solution to take by mouth, with or without food.
Warnings and Precautions : 
*Caution should also be exercised in patients with known heart diseases, brain diseases or conditions which would predispose patients to low blood pressure.
*Do not drive a car or operate hazardous machinery, including automobiles; do not drink alcohol while taking this drug.
*Avoid pregnancy and lactation.
Side Effects : 
Central Nervous System- Dizziness, drowsiness, headache.
Gastrointestinal- Nausea, vomiting.
Other Precautions : 
Avoid changing the dose.
Storage Conditions : 
Store at 25°C. Store it in air tight container and keep away from children.

This medicine has been recommended to my daughter, aged 10. She was diagnosed with ADHD and defiant behavior. The dosage is 5mg per day. Please suggest if this would have any side effects...

I AM 29YEAR OLD FEMALE AND TAKING ARPIZOL10MG FOR LAST ONE YEAR AS PRESCRIBED BY MY DOCTOR.RECENTLY I MISSED TO TAKE 1/2DAYS . I CAN NOT SLEEP IN NIGHT PROPERLY AND DULLNESS AND AVOIODING /INTEREST IN DAY TO DAY WORK.I CONTACTED MY DOCTOR AND ADVICED NOT TO STOP ANY DAY ARPIZOL10MG-1TAB AND ADICE FOR SLEEP LONAZEP1MG ALONGWITYH ARPIZOL10.
