This combination medication contains penicillin antibiotic and mucolytic agent. It is prescribed for upper and lower respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia, lung abscess, acute bronchitis. When it is not to be taken (Contraindications):
When it is to be taken : Adult: PO- Each capsule contains amoxicillin 250 mg and bromhexine 8 mg: 1-2 capsule 8 hourly. How it should be taken : It comes as a tablet, capsule and syrup to take by mouth with or without food. Special Instruction : * Caution should be exercised in patients with history of liver and kidney diseases, peptic ulcer, infectious mononucleosis and during pregnancy. Side Effects : Most Common - Headache, nausea, dizziness, vomiting, diarrhea and black hairy tongue. Skin - Rash, hives and severe allergic reactions. Blood - Increased eosinophilia, anemia and decrease in platelets. *Avoid excess dosage. Storage Conditions : Store it at room temperature. |
