Researchers at Binghamton University and Cornell University say that nanoparticles are no doubt versatile, but they do have a downside to them. This finding appears in a recent paper published in the journal iNature Nanotechnology/i. These tiny particles, even in low doses, could have a big impact on our long-term health.

According to lead author of the article, Gretchen Mahler, assistant professor of bioengineering at Binghamton University, much of the existing research on the safety of ...

Novel analytical technique developed by researchers increases the absorption of cocoa flavanols and provides basis for in vitro studies to measure the working of these compounds in the body.

Increasing scientific evidence indicates that (-)-epicatechin, the main flavanol in cocoa, can have a positive impact on the circulatory and cardiovascular systems.

Absorption and metabolism, however, play a key role in determining the exact effect food constituents and nutrients such as (-)-epicatechin have in the body....

A team from the Farncombe Family Digestive Health Research Institute has found that those acid-reducing drugs, known as proton pump inhibitors, tend to aggravate the damage in the small intestine that is often caused by the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, also known as NSAIDs.
