Green tea could mask the presence of testosterone hormone in urine testing, say scientists.

Although testosterone is naturally present in the human body, unnatural amounts of it can be spotted by detecting its unusual ratio to another hormone called epitestosterone in urine.

Declan Naughton and colleagues at Kingston University London conducted lab tests and discovered that compounds called catechins - found in green and white tea but not in black - inhibit an enzyme called UGT2B17. This ...

Green tea as a drink is more effective than capsules containing the green tea compound- catechins. Catechins reduce the cholesterol absorption in the gut.The study suggests that mild to moderate consumption of green tea along with cholesterol lowering medication can yield a better outcome of the cholesterol levels. The findings have been ...

The combo, scientists expect, can obliterate the plaques in the brain, which is behind the characteristic problems in memory and among victims of Alzheimer's. Animal experiments point out that green-tea extract with red light is capable of reaching tissue and bone to activate cell mitochondria and begin a process which can enhance the permeability of the barrier, researchers said....
