Recipe for Golden Milk / How to Prepare Turmeric Milk

Ingredients:

  • Milk – 1 glass
  • Turmeric Powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Honey to taste (optional)

Procedure:

  • Take milk in a heavy bottom pan and heat on the gas.
  • Once the milk starts boiling add turmeric powder to it.
  • Stir the milk to dissolve turmeric powder. There should not be any lump present in the milk.
  • After addition of turmeric powder, milk turns into a lovely golden color.
  • After that add one tablespoon of honey to taste.
  • Allow the turmeric to cool down for a few minutes and drink while it is warm.

Alternatively, a turmeric paste can be prepared and stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 month. Combine turmeric powder and pure water and keep over medium flame for 5 to 7 minutes until the mixture turns thick in texture. For the preparation of golden milk, take a teaspoon of the turmeric paste and add with a glass of milk. Allow the mixture to boil well and the turmeric milk is ready to consume. Honey can be added to taste.
