Indication This test is for rapid detection of Group B Streptococcus antigen in body fluids.
Physiology Group B streptococcus is currently one of the most significant human pathogens in the neonatal period. The mode of spread to neonate is exposure to the maternal genital flora in utero through ruptured membranes or by contamination during passage through the birth canal.
Normal Range Detection of Group B streptococcus
Interpretation Rapid identification of group B streptococcus carriers is important in management of premature rupture of the membrane
Sample Cerebrospinal fluid, blood, urine, endocervical, endometrial material, or amniotic fluid
Test Method Agglutination reaction, Counter immnoelectrophoresis
Related Tests Group A Streptococcus Screen, Bacterial Antigens.

it is very good test for long run and average blod sugar control,but this there limitation like cost,international standadization of procedure,variation in result due to renal failure,red cell disorder and other factro and availability of test
