Indication

Used to evaluate White cell enumeration, evaluate myelopoiesis, bacterial and viral infections, toxic metabolic processes, diagnose leukemia stages.

Physiology

WBC counts from actively crying babies may show leukocytosis and may suggest bacterial infections.

Normal Range

Peripheral blood: 4500-11,000/mm³ (4.5-11 X 10⁹/L) Possible Panic Range: < 2500/mm³ (2.5X10⁹/L) or > 30000/mm³ (>30.0X10⁹/L).

Haemocytometer counting chamber

hi my total leukocyte count is 13300 so what i can do now. pls. advise me

My baby is 13 months, doctore Lukochyte the total count of 15,500 is too much, it is fever,

what does if "Leucocyte Total=14200" high, can u please give me some good madicin for this, cox having high fever, it not get down

You may note that the first leptospirosis lateral flow test for canines detecting IgM has been developed. It uses whole blood or serum and is an ideal field test giving results in 10 to 15 minutes. We have a publication which I can forward you should you be interested. An IgM test for humans has also been developed and is now being used in many countires. These products are the result of a collaboration between Lifeassay Diagnostics in Cape Town, South Africa and KIT Biomedical Research in the Netherlands
