Butter is churned out of curd and the liquid that remains is buttermilk.

One of the best cures for sunburn is Buttermilk to which tomato juice is added – 5 is to 2. As soon as it is applied it cools the skin and heals sunburn very effectively when left on for 30 minutes.

Use gauze or old hankies for this – dip in buttermilk and cover the face and leave on for 10 minutes. Done 4 or 5 times cleans and nourishes the skin.

Drink two to three glasses of buttermilk to alleviate acidity and heartburn.
