Commonly known as fermented malt – Barley is used in making beer.

Barley works very well as a body scrub. 1 tablespoon of seeds needs to be boiled in 2 glasses of water. Strain, cool and use.

When skin becomes dry and loose, usually after an illness, barley can be powdered and mixed with turmeric powder. Make a paste using mustard oil and apply on the face and arms, keep on for half hour before washing off.

Powdered barley added to powdered oats - a teaspoon each, may be mixed with vinegar and warmed. It is excellent to clear acne scars and blemishes.
