This operation is usually done for the cancers of bladder that are not controlled by endoscopy and chemotherapy. The cystectomy surgery is performed by Urologist and is a major surgical procedure. It can be either a simple or a radical cystectomy. After removal of the bladder the urine is diverted either into an artificial bladder or externally and collected into a bag to be discarded regularly.
