General Info About Peritoneal Dialysis

CAPD or Peritoneal dialysis is required to be done daily or only in night via a machine.

Peritoneal dialysis is also a process by which waste products and excess fluids are removed from the blood, but unlike hemodialysis where the blood passes through a machine, peritoneal dialysis is done inside the body. However peritoneal dialysis has to be done daily three to four times, unlike hemodialysis, which is done 2-3 times a week.

There are 2 types of peritoneal dialysis:

1. Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD)

2. Continuous Cycling Peritoneal Dialysis (CCPD)

my daddy age 71 yrs showing createnine 3.8 in apr,4.2 in june,4.8 in aug and 7.3 in sept.But not showing any clinical symtoms.plz any one can guide me what to do.

Are there medical facilities to do these procedures for people living in small towns of India? How expensive will it be?

yes.. facility is available even in smaller towns in india in private hospitals.. just check out govt. hospitals @ district headquaters as dialysis facility is available in most of them and a bit low priced.. exact charges vary
