Fastest Human Calculator Too Busy To Notice Women
A PhD student at the Reims University, France has become the planet’s fastest human calculator – by cracking the world’s toughest mental arithmetic on Dec 11.

The genius Alexis Lemaire merely twitched slightly as he worked out the 13th root of a random 200-digit number in his head in just 70.21 seconds.

The 27-year-old’s answer of 2407899893032210 was the only accurate solution of a possible 393trillion combinations.

Lemaire performed the feat at London’s Science Museum, beating his own previous 72.4sec record set in New York last month.

He said that he was very thrilled at his achievement.

“I’m very proud of my brain. There’s nothing more exciting than being able to function like, or better than, a computer. I live to improve myself,” The Sun quoted him, as saying.

“All I want to do is challenge myself to get faster and faster,” he said.

When asked what made him the way he is, he said: “I try to work like a calculator. I’ve no time for women — as I train so much for maths. I want to make a computer programme of my head. To be a computer — only better.”

Science Museum spokesman Richard Purnell said: “Alexis really is a genius.”
