Botanical name: Trigonella foenum
English name: Fenugreek leaves
Tamil name: Vendaya keerai

Indications:

    - Manda Agni –poor digestion
    - Dysentery
    - Diarrhea
    - Nervous weakness
    - Premature loss of hair
    - Diabetes
    - Flatulence
    - Anorexia

Fenugreek leaves Dosa:

Preparation:

Ingredients:


Fenugreek leaves – 2 bunches
Wheat flour – 1 cup
Brown rice flour – 1 cup
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – 3 leaves
Rock salt – according to taste
Sesame oil – 20 ml

Method:

Mix equal quantities of wheat flour and rice flour. Add cumin seed, rock salt, pepper powder, curry leaves and chopped fenugreek leaves. Mix well with water to make a batter. Spread on the tava to make dosas. Pour little sesame oil around the dosa, when it turns golden brown, turn it over to other side. After a few seconds, it is ready to serve.

The leaves may also be used to make adai, sambar, raitha, and parotta.
