I am a 56 year old with a life time heart lung disorder and like to exercise what should my pulse rate be resting and during the peak times of excersie thank you.

I am 48 and is a regular semi professional badminton player.
My pulse rate often reaches 190 against 155 allowed and 172 max
I am perfectly OK during this period
Any suggestions on the validity of 220-age in such cases.

I had 190/85 pules 150bpm...2 minutes after a 150m speed run...my age is 73 and in full track training.. within 3 minuets the BP was 145/65......
